Rimac Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Copper-Colored Nevera

The special version of Rimac's 1813-hp electric hypercar marks 15 years since the company's beginnings and sports an eye-catching blend of copper and carbon fiber.

In recent years, the brand Rimac has become recognized for revolutionary high-performance electric powertrains. The Croatian carmaker came into the spotlight with the Nevera and a high-profile merger with Bugatti, while also delivering the elegant Pininfarina Battista's drivetrain and drawing investment from Porsche and Hyundai. But founder Mate Rimac really founded his eponymous firm way back in 2009. To honor the brand's 15th anniversary, Rimac has designed a special edition Nevera with a stylish copper accent.

The Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition will make its in-person premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week. Production of the automobile will be restricted to just nine units. For the first time, the Nevera is wearing matte paint, with the upper half covered in copper and the lower piece completed in raw carbon fiber. Rimac claims it picked the copper tone owing to its associated with "times of celebration" as well as its "connection energy," since the metal is prevalent in electrical lines.

The two-tone design continues to the alloy wheels, which include six spokes in copper and three in black. The special edition also wears 15th Anniversary emblems on the front fender, while a sticker that is designed to resemble a circuit board runs from the hood to the rear wing.

The copper motif is also seen inside, with the color decorating the anodized switchgear and the door trim. The cabin may be spec'd in black or white, but either way, the seats will feature contrasting copper leather, copper stitching, and the number 15 stamped in the headrests. The armrest, however, contains a distinctive etching that incorporates the years 2009 and 2024 and designates the automobile as one of nine "designed, engineered, and manufactured in Croatia."

All all, the Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition costs the equivalent of $2.5 million at current exchange rates and comes with a set of unique baggage built to match the Nevera's cabin. The unique model will take on the legendary Goodwood hill-climb this weekend, and the vehicle that will drive up the twisting track will be the first of the nine customer cars.

15 years ago, Mate Rimac went on a journey to develop a vehicle manufacturer in Croatia. His firm began with an EV conversion of an E30-generation BMW, but the subsequent decade and a half have seen it evolve into a fully operating maker of revolutionary electric hypercars. Although the firm has only really been constructing vehicles for clients for a few years, Rimac is taking a minute to mark this year of its creation with a small treat: a 15th-anniversary edition of the excellent Rimac Nevera.

In some respects, the 15th-anniversary model is more like something you'd expect from Rimac's new sibling business Bugatti. There are no mechanical alterations; rather, this is a limited edition of the "regular" Nevera with a distinctive cosmetic packaging. In this occasion, the anniversary is honored with a unique design over a copper hue that Rimac claims is the brand's first-ever matte finish.

Inside, the 15th anniversary Nevera has copper anodized controls and surfaces painted in the exterior's distinctive copper tone. The interior also contains copper-colored leather, and inscriptions recognizing this as a one-of-nine collector hypercar. Otherwise, the interior is what you'd expect from Rimac's electric hypercar.

Nine 15th anniversary editions of the Nevera will be produced, all available with personalized baggage matching a specified interior color for a modest $2.5 million. The automobile will premiere at Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week. That event's hill climb, after all, is the location of one of the Nevera's numerous records - a 49.32 second run up the course established last year.
